Prepare to party well in advance

Most celebrated occasions give you plenty of time to prepare to party in advance.

This is great because party planning can take on a life of it’s own.

You see, parties don’t just ‘pop-up’!

Ok some do but not most.

Most big parties, such as weddings, birthdays, Sweet 16, anniversaries and baby showers, give you time to prepare to party well in advance.

Take advantage of the time you have to create an event full of smiles and memories.

Here are some tips to planning a Party to Remember!

  • Set Aside Some Cash – most parties are set on a predetermined date, so if you know you will
be throwing a party for a birthday, graduation, Sweet 16 or baby shower, or any other upcoming event, set aside some cash on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, depending on your pay date.
$50 dollars per week in one-year tallies to $2600. Not a bad party fund.
  • Think with your head NOT your heart – it is very easy to get caught up in the moment and thinking how much you want to show your Guest of Honor how much you care by how much you spend. However, forgoing the mortgage or car payment is not rational. Going in debt for a party
will only bring on regret. Not good.
  • Slow down and regroup – everyone will be wanting to chime in with those wonderful suggestions that will cost them zilch but will cost you more than you can afford. Listen to their suggestions and choose the best ideas within your budget. Remember, this is about the Guest of Honor or The Occasion, NOT the money you spend.
  • Interview Party Vendors – interview several, you have time. Ask the photographer, DJ, or entertainer if you can visit them at one of their upcoming engagements so that you
can see them live and in action.
  • Write down your party plan – this is the most crucial but most left out piece of the puzzle. Writing down your party plan will help you focus on the event and you are more likely NOT to forget any detail.
  • Delegate responsibilities – you are not alone. Ask close friends and family to help you get the party together. Not only will the party come together quickly and easily but also the relief of stress
    will be well worth it.

Prepare to party well in advance so that you can be part of the event and enjoy your family and friends rather than be a ball of stress.
